We have received a request on our website from a potential client to install artificial grass in the back garden of his new house. The house was under complete refurbishment. After a discussion with the client and inspection of the garden, we recommended the use of 38 mm artificial grass. Although slightly more expensive, the grass has a natural appearance adding a fresh look to the entire garden. After agreeing on all the details, we started planning the project. We faced two difficulties:
- The soil was very soft because of the recent rainfall.
- We had to finish the project within four days.
Artificial grass installation steps
- Days 4
- Team of gardeners 4
Step 1 Preparation of the area
We needed to add extra gardeners to finish the project on time. The first thing the team did was to level the ground. We had to double the amount of gravel stones to achieve a robust sub-base. The work was even harder for the team because of the constant rain.
Step2 Laying the sand base and anti-weed membrane
After the gravel, we put 6 mm grano dust to achieve hard-compacted surface. The next step was to lay the anti-weed membrane.
Step 3 Laying the artificial grass
The grass had to be stretched very precisely so that there are no folds. Then fine sand is applied, which weighs in the grass and doesn’t allow the formation of folds and bumps.
Step 4 Grass brushing
The last is the grass-brushing process to allow the grass to look natural.
After finishing the garden, PI Gardening team had another happy customer.
